Wild Basin and the St. Vrain River

The Wild Basin unit of Rocky Mountain National Park has a unique feel compared to other sections of the National Park. Visiting Wild Basin, one will quickly understand how this area came to inherit its name. The forest in this area is lush and thick. Streams such as the St. Vrain filter down from majestic alpine lakes high above the trailheads. It's easy to quickly get away from the crowds found in other areas of the National Park. In my opinion, Wild Basin is one of Colorado's gems, and a great place to photograph less iconic, subtle but beautiful scenes such as these.
