Dream Lake Tranquility

Rocky Mountain National Park, CO

One of the most iconic locations in Rocky Mountain National Park is Dream Lake. Dream Lake, located just above Bear and Nymph Lake presents a classic Colorado viewpoint. Vistors to Dream Lake are typically presented with a stunning view of a majestic mountain lake and Hallet Peak and Flattop Mountain reflecting in the lake. This morning was very different from my many visits to Dream Lake. I hiked into Dream Lake before sunrise. Upon my arrival I found the lake shrouded in fog but smooth as glass. My original intention was to photograph the classic view of Hallet Peak towering over the lake. Instead, I was quite pleased to photograph Dream Lake in this more subdued but just as beautiful rendition of one of my favorite locations in Rocky Mountain National Park.
