Emerald Lake and Fog

Rocky Mountain National Park, CO

Fog shrouds Flattop Mountain and Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. Flattop Mountain is obscured by the Fog but the lake surface is smooth as glass. The diffused light reveals the glacial rocks under the surface as well as the emerald colored water of the alpine lake from which it inherits its name. The ancient Bristlecone pines that line portions of Emerald Lake's shoreline get a reprive from an area that sees it's fair share of wind.
